My sister Cyndie was pregnant with her second child conceived using IVF. Unlike her, her partner did not want another child. Her decision almost tore their relationship apart. This is her story. It’s a story about the urge to become a mother, especially when you aren’t able to naturally. It highlights the difficulties and the pressures of motherhood but it's not just about the experience of carrying a child to term. Rather, I want to question the impulse to risk everything to bring about new life. A new life forced to live in a complex world.
